Min - Animal Shelter Advisory Committee - 2017 - 11/29 - RegularANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY COMITTEE ' REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 29, 2017 Present: Dr. Alan Coffman Kathryn May, Vice Chau Deborah Michnick, Animal Control Supervisor Shelia Brauning, Secretary Matt McGee, Chau Robin Sedlacek, City Council Liaison Call to Order With a quorum of the Board members present, the Regular Meeting of the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee was called to order by Supervisor Michnick at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday 29, 2017, in the Animal Shelter Conference Room, Allen Animal Shelter, 707 S Allen Heights Drive., Allen, Texas 75002. Conduct Election of Officers. Chair Brawling called for nominations from the Board for the purpose of electing officers. The following slate of officers was presented: Matt McGee for the position of Chair. Kathryn May for the position of Vice Chair. Sheila Brauning for the position of Secretary. With no other nominations offered, Chair Blaming closed the call for nominations. Matt McGee was elected for the position of Chair, Kathryn May was elected for the position of Vice Chair Sheila Brawling was elected for the position of Secretary by a vote of five (5) for and none (0) opposed of the Board. 2. Approve Minutes from the August 16, 2017, Regular Meeting. The minutes were approved by the acclamation of the board. 3. Introduce New Animal Control Supervisor, Deborah Michnick. The Board welcomes new Animal Control Supervisor, Deborah Michnick. 4. Discuss and Make a Recommendation to the City Council regarding Proposed Revisions to the Chapter 3, Animals and Fowl, of the Code of Ordinances. Discussed definitions of "Dangerous Dog" and "Vicious Animal' as outlined in the Allen Ordinances Section 3-1 and whether they should be revised and/or changed. Current definitions of the above were ' found to be satisfactory, not too restrictive nor too loose. Discussion was tabled until such time as Supervisor Michnick can research the ordinances defined by other cities such as Austin and Dallas and provide this information to the Board. [Board announcements regarding local civic and charitable events, meetings, fundraisers, and awards.] • Supervisor Michnick advised she would email all members with the date and time of the meeting to be held in the spring of 2018. MOTION: Upon a motion made by Secretary Brauning and a second by Supervisor Michnick, the Board voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed to adjourn the Regular Meeting of the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017.
