Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the Parks and Recreation Board present, Vice -Chair Holley
called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018 in the
Classroom of the Allen Senior Recreation Center at 451 St. Mary Drive, Allen,
Texas.
1) Approve Minutes of the February 12, 2018, Regular Meeting
Motion: Upon a motion by Member Johnson and a second by Member Smiddy,
the Parks and Recreation Board voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to
approve the minutes from the February 12, 2018 Regular Meeting as
presented. The motion carried.

3) Staff Introductions
Matt Cobb, Marketing Manager, Timmy Vessakosol, Allen Community Ice Rink
Center Supervisor, and Mike Martin, Allen Event Center Assistant General Manager
were introduced to the board.
4) Ranking of FY18 CDC Projects
The list of projects will be emailed for members to complete their rankings and will be
complied before the CDC review in August.
5) Receive Subcommittee Update
Member Cowart reported attending the Senior Advisory Committee in March.
Discussion was active and centered around the upcoming Ireland trip and a potential
future River Cruise.
Member Davidson reported attending the Senior Advisory Committee in April.
' Members were very excited about the garden opening.
6) Update on Recreation Programming
Timmy Vessakosol, Center Supervisor at the Allen Community Ice Rink, gave an
update on programming at the facility including details on open skates, academy of
skating, birthday party packages and thematic skates.
Jeff Holt, Golf Services Manager at The Courses at Watters Creek, presented the new
Practice Plus Program that the golf course will be rolling out this summer. He gave an
overview of the driving range and practice program, and discussed potential revenue
and pricing structure.
T) Update on Projects and Agreements
Matt McComb, Landscape Architect, updated the Board on the progress of Green
Park, Windridge Park, Reed Park, ASRC Garden & Trail, and Spirit Park.
8) Discuss Board Evaluation
Chair Losavio will be collecting and compiling the evaluation. Submissions should be
emailed to her.

2) Appoint Two Senior Advisory Selection Committee Representatives
Vice -Chair Holley called for two board members to serve on the Senior Advisory
Selection Committee. After brief discussion he appointed member Johnson and
member Smiddy to serve on this committee.

Motion: Upon a motion by Member Johnson and a second by Member Vizcaino, the
Parks and Recreation Board voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to
adjourn the meeting at 7:01 p.m. The motion carried.
