Min - Planning and Zoning Commission - 1973 - 05/07 - Regularmay 7, 1973 regular meeting request for zoning by stella kenelos 17.2 acres south of methodist church between highway 5 and jupiter road. pete ford speaking for petitioners stated request should be amended to lr-pd from lr. there are no specific plans for the property at present. comments by property owners: bob lowman stated that they felt wrong place for commercial business and should remian resenditial. wayne statton felt proximity to the resenditial area was to close for commercial. traffic across yards was cited as potential problem. methodist church gene adcock expressed interest of church and felt any future development should blend w/ the surronding properties motion by brazeal seconded by smith that the zoning request be denied. 3 members voted for denial. seaman obstained citing interest as trustee of methodist church. recommendation to be sent to city council - hearing at next regular meeting on request by ... on 12.2 acres south of kanelos property between hiway 5 and jupiter rd from r-2 to lr-pd - motion by smith seconded by brazeal that the regular meeting of the planning and zoning commission be changed from the first monday night of the month to the second monday night of the month. carried 4-0 election of officers: mickey pierson - elected chairman don brazeal - elected vice chairman wendell seaman - elected secretary - motion by brazeal seconded by smith to increase the members by of the commission from 5 members to 7 fulltime members. motion carried. recommendation to be sent to the city council - meeting adjourned
