Min - Planning and Zoning Commission - 1974 - 09/09 - Regularsept 9, 1974 regular meeting welcomed r. chumbly to p&z commission request for zoning change from r16 to oc. north of main street on the railroad right-of-way chairman reported that city attorney had stated the opinion that the railroad righ-of-way is zoned r16. railroad stated they have no objection to rezoning of strip of railroad right- of-way aprox. 100'x600' application stated specific use for outdoor storage of building materials. twenty seven property ownders contacted lewis williams letter stated that he had no objection to the zoning change. mr. j oxford as a property owner objected to zoning change citing the reasons for the objections as individual dwellings in the area mrs. brazeal objected on the grounds of having an oc zoning next to an r16 zoning mrs. lien oxford allowed mr. t. oxford letter to speak for her b statton presented the need to ... his business. the zoning on the current property comes under the grandfather clause. motion by seaman that the stratton request for oc zoning from lr and r16 on the railroad right-of-way west side of the tracks from main st. coat's be denied. seconded by smith motion carried 6 to 1. recommendation to be submitted to city council meeting adjourned
