Min - Planning and Zoning Commission - 1977 - 12/12 - Regulardec. 12, 1977 regular meeting minutes read an accepted. motion johnnie enloe; second joe perks; all in favor I. the commission held a public hearing on a zoning change request on property located at 206 north ask, being lots1c and 1d - block h - old donation - from r-16 (residential) to lr (local retail) sue chumbley appeared before the commission to recommend this property be zoned local retail bill kolander made motion on lr zoning be granted; second joe moseley; all in favor with richard chumbley abstaining II. the commission held a hearing on a special exception request by william f chester to allow the operation of a used car lot in a local retail zone. the property is located at 606 north federal drive robert l. thompson, jr. a mckinney auto dealer, appeared before the commission to recommend the approval of this special exception request johnnie enloe made motion this special exception request be granted; second, joe moseley; all in favor with richard chumbley abstaining III. jill duncan developer appeared before the commission with a replat of the allenwood heights sub-division and seeking a special exception for duplex & triplex dwellings in a townhouse zone development to be composed of duplex & triplex dwellings ranging in price from $65,000 to $70,000. the development would up-grade the original planned development on this property joe perks made motion the special exception be granted and the replat accepted. second, richard chumbley bill kolander amended the motion to provide for screening on the end of the blocks facing highway 5. all in favor IV. the commission discussed the adoption of a new minimum lot size in the city bill kolander made motion to recommend the city council amend the present zoning ordinance to eliminate r6 zoning and establish the minimum lot size as required in r5 zoning. second, johnnie enloe; all in favor V. the commission discussed a short course on city planning with the council of governments to be held in allen in january 1978. the course is to be sponsored by the city council VI. the commission discussed a proposed planned development of 262 lots with r2 and r3 zoning. development to be located south of keith drive, north of bethany and east of central expressway johnnie enloe made motion meeting be adjourned. second, richard chumbley. all in favor
