Min - Planning and Zoning Commission - 1980 - 06/26 - RegularSPECIAL MEETING Allen Planning & Zoning June 26, 1980 Presiding: Chairman Roger Powell Members Present: Carol Henry, Joe Moseley, Greg Tows, Charles Akin, and Jim Pendleton. Motion by Joe Moseley to accept minutes from June 12, 1980 meeting as read. Second to motion by Jim Pendleton. ?lotion approved (5) for (0) against. A Public Hearing was held at the request of Distinctive Homes Inc. to change zoning on 71 acres in the Wm. Perrin Survey Abstract #708 from present classification of R3, R16 PD + LRPD to R16 & GI. Representative of Distinctive Homes, Stan Eskowitz spoke first about the zoning change. He read a few letters from a few of the adjoining land owners, (Southern Pacific, John Deere, Fox & Jacobs, Moran & Hoffman, act,) Bob Lowman - Adjoining land owner - Against zoning change. Claude Whitaker - Spe asking Against Howard Snyder - Bill Kolander - Jim ? - Adjacent to Keith Paul Parker - Speaking Against Catherine Watts - " " Ward Paxton - " " Gave a petition signed by majorities of home owners on Keith Dr. stating opinion against the zoning change. Chuck Forbes, future owner of proposed property, spoke for the proposed change. Del Morton, officer of corporation owning property, spoke for property and zoning change. Ward Paxton - Against proposed change, again. Allen Mead - " " Anthony Vita Fred Winslow Bill Buckout Public Hearing closed. Comments made about change from P & Z Members. Motion made by Greg Tows to deny zoning request. Second to motion by Joe Moseley. Motion carried 5 for 1 against.
