Min - Planning and Zoning Commission - 1987 - 12/10 - RegularALLEN PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION REGULAR FETING DECEMBER 10, 1987 Commission Members Present: Ken Browning, Chairman Eileen Karlsruher Wayne Armand Charles Lee Carolyn Latimer Commission Members Absent: John Garcia Dan Contreras City Staff Present: Tom Keener, Development Coordinator Sally Leeper, Secretary CALL TO ORDER: The Allen Planning & Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Browning, at the Allen Municipal Annex, City Council Chambers, One Butler Circle, Allen, Texas. Approve Minutes October 26, 1987 (Agenda Item II) Chairman Browning read the agenda item into the record as follows: "Approve minutes of October 26, 1987, regular meeting." MOTION: Upon a motion by Commissioner Latimer and a second by Commissioner Lee, the Commission voted 5 FOR and 0 OPPOSED to approve the minutes of October 26, 1987, as presented. The motion carried. L ALLEN PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION DECEMBER 10, 1987 PAGE 2 Approve Minutes Joint City Council and P & Z December 11. 1987 (Agenda Item III) Chairman Browning read the agenda item into the record as follows: "Approve minutes of November 11, 1987, joint City Council and Planning & Zoning Commission meeting." MOTION: Upon a motion by Commissioner Armand and a second by Commissioner Latimer, the Commission voted 5 FOR and 0 OPPOSED to approve the minutes of the joint meeting of December 11, 1987. Final Plat Max 0. Vaughan Elementary School (Agenda Item IV) Chairman Browning read the agenda item into the record as follows: "Final Plat - Consider final plat approval for Max 0. Vaughan Elementary Schol for the Allen Independent School District, being a tract of land situated in the R.C. Whisenant Survey, Abstract No. 1012 in the City of Allen, Collin County, Texas, and being part of a tract of land to Cottonwood Partners as described in Volume 2078, Page 945, of the Deed Records of Collin County, Texas, further described as being located at 820 Cottonwood Drive, Allen, Texas." Mr. Keener advised that engineering on this property has been approved. MOTION: Upon a motion by Commissioner Armand and a second by Commissioner Lee, the Commission voted 5 FOR and 0 OPPOSED to approve the final plat for Max O. Vaughan Elementary School. The motion carried. Appoint Representative Allen Economic Alliance (Agenda Item V) Chairman Browning read the agenda item into the record as follows: "Appoint a Commissioner as a representative to the Citizens' Advisory Board of the Allen Economic Alliance." ALLEN PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION DECEMBER 10, 1987 PAGE 3 Mr. Michael Stanger explained the structure and purpose of the Allen Economic Alliance, and stated that the Commission is being asked to name a member to particiate in the Citizens' Advisory Board. Commissioner Armand stated he would like to serve on the board as a representative of a homeowner's group. MOTION: Upon a motion by Commissioner Armand and a second by Commissioner Latimer, the Commission voted 5 FOR and 0 OPPOSED to name the chairman of the Commissioner to serve as a representative from the Commission. Commissioner Armand clarified the motion by stating that this person would be whoever the chairman is at any given point in time. The motion carried. Commissioner Lee offered his services on the committee if there is a need. Other Business (Agenda Item VI) Commissioner Latimer stated that she will be unavailable for meetings in January. Mr. Keener stated that staff will begin working on revisions to the Subdivision Ordinance and other ordinances, and the Commission should spend time reviewing the Subdivision Ordinance in the next month.
