El CALL TO ORDER:
The Allen Planning & Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:30 p.m.
by Acting Chairman Karlsruher, at the Allen Municipal Annex, City
Council Chambers, One Butler Circle, Allen, Texas.
Aprove Minutes
March 10, 1988
(Agenda Item II)
Acting Chairman Karlsruher read the agenda item into the record as
follows:
"Approve minutes of March 10, 1988, Regular meeting."
MOTION: Upon a motion by Commissioner Lee and a second by Commis-
sioner Latimer, the Commission voted 4 FOR and 0 OPPOSED to
approve the minutes of March 10, 1988, as submitted."

Tabled Item
The 2170 Limited Partnership (Agenda Item III)
Acting Chairman Karlsruher read the agenda item into the record as
follows:
"Tabled Item - Consider request for zoning on 21.6106 acres of land
by The F.M. 2170 Limited Partnership, from "A -O" Agriculture -Open
Space to "PD" Planned Development in Collin County, Texas, in the
Daniel Yeaman Survey, Abstract No. 1041, and being a resurvey of a
tract of land described in a deed from Western Farms, Ltd. to Louis
Allis, Jr., as recorded in Volume 706, Page 780 of the Collin County
Deed Records; further described as being south of F.M. 2170 and
approximately 6500± feet west of U.S. 75."
MOTION:Upon a motion by Commissioner Latimer and a second by
Commissioner Lee, the Commission voted 4 FOR and 0 OPPOSED
to remove this agenda item from the table.
Mr. Robert Pope stated that he is requesting a worshop session on this
item. He asked that it be held prior to the next regular scheduled
meeting. Commissioner Lee suggested that the workshop be held at a
called special meeting with the workshop as an agenda item as well as
the request appearing as a tabled item for consideration. The Commission
discussed available dates to hold this meeting.
MOTION: Upon a motion by Commissioner Latimer and a second by
Commissioner Lee, the Commission voted 4 FOR and 0 OPPOSED
to call a Special Meeting with a workshop as one agenda item
as well as having this request appear as a tabled item for
possible consideration to be held April 5, 1988, at 7:00 p.m. at
the Allen Municipal Annex.
Other Business:
Mr. Tom Keener discussed the need for a review of the book entitled
"The Role of the Planning Commissioner" by Albert Solnit. He suggested
that the commissioners consider a visitation to the Dallas Planning &
Zoning Commission as well as training sessions that are sponsored by the
Council of Governments.
