Members present as follows;
Mayor V.B. Watson, Alderman W.E. Ford, R.L. Cooksey, Carl
Marion, Earl Young, and Jack Hedgcoxe. None absent.
The Allen Fire Department represented by V.B. Harrington,
Gene Cannady, and Billy Reaves, meet with the Council to offer
a Fire Truck to the City on the same terms as the other Fire
Truck was given. Motion by W.E. Ford to accept the Truck
offered by the Fire Dept. to be maintained by the City, if it
can be obtained, motion sec by R.L. Cooksey. Ayes (5) five/noes
(0) none.
Discussion on the hiring Mr. Hester Lewis for a NIGHT WATCHMAN.
Motion by Carl Marion to offer Mr. Lewis $60.00
per month to act as night watchman, second by E.B. Young
ayes (5) five / noes (0) none.
Motion by Carl Marion for the City to pay the ENGINEER
FEES on street work, sec by E.B. Young. Ayes (5) five / noes (0)
none.
Motion by Carl Marion to buy a few more leads of ROCK and
GRAVEL to finish some spots on the streets, sec. by Jack Hedgcoxe
Ayes (5) five / noes (0) none.
Motion by W.E. Ford to have a Financial Statement of the Town
of Allen published in the McKinney Examiner at the end of each
fiscal year. We will ask the auditor (Mr. Leon Ussery) to fix
out a statement suitable to be printed. Second by Carl Marion -
Ayes (5) five / noes (0) none.
Motion by E.B. Young to remove the restriction on letting Mr.
W.D. Angle having Water and Sewage, this being an amendment to a
motion made and passed in a special meeting of Nov. 2nd 1959 in
book #2 page 105. Sec by Jack Hedgcoxe. Ayes (5) five noes (0) none.
