Minutes read and approved:
Members present, Mayor V.B. Watson Alderman R.L. Cooksey,
E.B. Young, Jack Hedgcoxe, Carl Marion and W.E. Ford.
Allen School Board Members present were Alton Boyd, H.E.
Hefner, Carl Marion and D.L. Rountree.
Continued discussion about getting the Water & Sewer for
the New High school. The decision was to use the Water Line
that is already there (one inch) for the present time.
The Town Council decided to go ahead with the Sewer Line under
the same contract with the School as set out in a
previous meeting. School to pay one/sixth of the cost.
Motion was made by W.E. Ford, after much discussion and thought,
"TO RAISE THE WATER RATES FROM $0.75 per 1,000 gallons to $0.95 per
1,000 gallons in order to meet the requirements for selling additional
bonds. The MINIMUM RATE to remain at $3.00 for the first 1500 gallons
and over 10,000 gallons to stay at $0.50 per 1,000 gallons.
RATE EFFECTIVE AS OF THIS DATE AUGUST 11, 1960." Motion was
second by Carl Marion, Ayes (5) five / noes (0) none.
