Members present as follows; Mayor V.B. Watson Aldermen Jack
Hedgcoxe, E.B. Young, R.L. Cooksey, W.E. Ford and Carl Marion.
Mayor Watson had been to Dallas to talk to the STATE HIGHWAY
Department about road signs in the New Annexation on Highways #5
and #2170, Mayor Watson had also talked to Mr. G.T. Jones about
annexing his property, Mr. Jones was to let Mayor Watson know about
the annexing of his property.
Alderman W.E. Ford had not been able to contact Mr. Ray Roberts
at this date in regard to the Lavon Water.
Discussion about street lights where they were needed & etc.
Motion by Carl Marion to put in (6) SIX more LIGHTS, location as
follows: South-East corner of School Ground & Highway 2170
Highway 2170 & Old road at S.W. Corner School-ground
North end of parking erra of the School & Old road
Intersection of Highway 2170 & H.W. #5
Highway 2170 & East ave. D
East end of North 3rd street (in Colored section)
Motion was second by E.B. Young, Ayes (5) Five, noes (0) none.
Motion by Jack Hedcoxe to have Paul Warden to draw up an
Ordinance to take in Highway (5) Five from Highway 2170 south to
the South City Limits, a distance of approximately 1971 feet, or
to the present South City Limits. Motion second by R.L. Cooksey.
Ayes (5) Five - Noes (0) none.
Motion to adjourn by W.E. Ford, sec. by Carl Marion.
