Min - City Council - 1961 - 03/23 - Regular~ REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL Or THE TOWN OF ALLEN ■ir ALLEN, TEXAS March 23 A.C. 1961 Minutes read and approved : Members present were as follows; Mayor V.B. Watson, Aldermen R .L. Cooksey, Carl Marion, Jack Hedgcoxe and W.E. Ford. None absent. 6 Mayor Watson mention some of the expensds which hadOccured during the past year so Alderman W.E. Ford made the motion to pay the Mayor his regular salary + plus ?40.00 extra which would cover at least a part of the 10M Mayor's expence. Motion was second by Carl Marion. Motion carried 4 for / none against. Discussion about closing the R R crossing in front of the George Carroll Home. Motion by R.L. Cooksey that so far as the Town Councel was concered the RAIL -ROAD may close the crossing as it is not a regular street crossing any -way. This motion was second by Carl Marion. Motion carried (4) Four/ for -- (0) none against Mr. G.T. Jones was present again presenting the plot of the DON XYMM CARROLL ADDITION bound on th4 North by F M Road 2170, on the West by State H W # 5 and on the East by old H W # 6 (six). The general discuss- ion was the WATER & SEWER LINES, which way to run the lines , where to tiexon the water line and act. Would it make any difference where the 'water mains were tied on, should the line be run from the W.H. Taylor property or from the North-East corner of the SOUTH -WOOD ESTATES INC., The HON. Mayor was to consult with the City ENGINEER in regard to this ni matter. Mr. Clark; Manager of the Southwest Bell Telephone for the McKinney distric was present to explain the FRANCHISE for the Southwest Bell Tele- phone Company and their operation under the State Code. Mr. Clark presen- ted an ORDINANCE goverining._.the agreement's between the Town of Allen and the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company with reference to payinm the Franchies. The Ordinance was read by Mr. Clark to the Town Council. Motion by Carl Marion and second by Jack Hedgcoxe to pass the Ordinance presented by the Telephone Company. Ayes (4) Four (0) noes none. Mr Clark also stated that this would be a good t$ma time to get list of NAMES ( or petition) favoring TOO -WAY Telhphone service between ALLEN & McKinney.
