SPECIAL MEETING
OF
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF 'HE T0WN Or ALLEN, ALLEN,TEXAS.
Members present as follows: Mayor V.B. Watson, Aldermen J.C. Hefner,
earl Marion, Jack Hed ?coxe,and Phil Pringle. Absent C.E. Ottoway.
Mr. Fowler & Mr. Buckhanan was present . Purpose of the meeting to
discuss issueing of some BONDS for the purpose of drilling, a WELL and
extending the Water Lines. Mr Buckmanan our financial advisor states that
"if possibable it would be better to issue the entire $ 60,000.00 worth of
BONDS at this time. We would only have to sell what BONDS we actuly need,
for our present needs. Mr Buckhanants charge will be 2% on what BONDS are
actuly sold.
Motion was made by J.C. Hefner that we sign the 1,3014D PURCHASE CONTRACT
at this time. Motion second by Carl Marion. Ayes (4) Four --Noes (0) none.
Contract was signed by the MAYOR &SECY. Contract on file in Mayorts office.
Discussion about extending the WATER LINE to the NEW SCHOOL.
Motion was made by Carl Marion to run the WATER LINE to the School property
on this contract. Sec, by Jack Hedgcoxe. Ayes(4) Four - Noes (0) none.
Motion b, Carl Marion that we XYM go ahead with the contract with Mr.
Fowler (engineer ) on drilling a WELL and runing the WATER LINE to the
School. This motion second by Phil Pringle. Ayes (4) Four --Noes (0) none.
The Council authorized the Mayor to sign the contract for Mr. Fowler as
soon as he ( Ms.Fowler) got the papers ready. Mr. Fowler's fee on the
contract will be 9
Motion by J.C. Hefner tnn buy a new pick-up truck , second by Carl
Marion. Motion passed 4 to 0 .
Discussion about the City Police. Mayor Watson read Pr. Haddix's
report for the month of April.
The Council will meet Thur. May 18th to recess the hearin- on rezcnin',,
until May 22 I961, due to the absence of one of the aldermen.
