Chair, Evelyn Dawson called the meeting to order at 6.20 p.m.

CALL TO ORDER
Chair, Evelyn Dawson called the meeting to order at 6.20 p.m.
2. CITIZENS COMMENTS
There was no citizens present wishing to speak at this time.
There were no minutes to approve from the June meeting because a
quorum was not met.
4 AD HOC COMMITTEE UPDATE
a. School Liaison/Programs—Lauren Jones, Cindy Kaleta and Joyce
Richards
Cindy agreed to speak to Allen ISD's art, theater, and music teachers
to establish a relationship with them to support the school's art
programs and for future events.
b. Friends of the Parts and Art in Allen ---Lisa Ellrich
Nothing to report at this time.
c. Art in Public Places Committee ---Deb Sielert, Joel Cantwell
Robin Frye is finished with the park renderings and Deb is
researching the information to have them framed.
5. UPDATE/REVIEW on BOARD ISSUES/PROJECTS
a. Park Foundation Update ---Don Horton
Don reported that the Park Foundation could now use the name "Allen
Parks Foundation" name.
b. Library/Auditorium---Don Horton, Evelyn Dawson
Evelyn met with Proforma and the auditorium and she learned that the
library auditorium is designed so that an upgraded sound and lighting
system can be added at a later date.
c. Statue Update ----Don Horton
Don reported that the statue that was damaged at Allen Station Park
would be repaired by a local artist.
d. Public Relations ----Deb Sielert
Nothing to report at this time.
6. ART IN PUBLIC PLACES
It was suggested that this committee get several quotes for frames for the
renderings that Robin Frye is creating. Deb Sielert agreed to research
framing prices for the renderings. Evelyn also reminded everyone that all
AAAB money must be spent by October

7. ALLEN ART ALLLIANCE GUILD
Bill Dillard discussed plans for the art guild meeting that will follow next
board meeting on September 4, 2001. It was decided to serve snacks and
have a brain storming session with the volunteers. It was decided to buy
easels, flip charts and markers.
8. Other Business
No other business at this time.
9. MEETING ADJOURNED at 8.17 p.m.
