1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Lisa Ellrich called the meeting to order at 6:07 p.m.
2. CITIZENS COMMENTS
There were no citizens present wishing to speak at this time.
3. APPROVE MINUTES FROM PAST MEETING.
The minutes were presented were approved.
4. INTRODUCTION OF NEW RECREATIONS SERVICE MANAGER
Tony Hill was introduced as the new Recreations Service Manager for Parks and
Recreation.
5. PRESENTATION OF CHECKS TO AISD HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
ART CONTEST WINNER
Winners of the Art Contest were Grand Prize winner, Judson Garwood and
Runner Ups were Amanda, Hebert, Candace Hudgens, Venezt Marquez, and
Ruby Marganti. Miss Marganti was the only winner who attended this meeting.
A photo was taken and will be submitted to the Allen American Newspaper.

GRANTS
Kelly McGinnis spoke to the board about grant availability and suggested that
each member began researching grants. She recommends that the board begin by
looking at Texas Commissions on the Arts. Mrs. McGinnis gave the board
a very detailed notebook that explains the grant process. Mrs. McGinnis asked
each board member to submit a bio and resume to Tina Daniels.
These resumes and bios will be used for grant applications.
7.
SUNDAY SOUNDS CONCERT SERIES
This item was tabled as Tim Dentler suggested that the board establish guidelines
for proposals such as Sunday Sounds and other evantslorganizations that ask for
financial assistance.
8.
UPDATE ON SUMMER SOUNDS CONCERT
Tina Daniels reported that there were two concerts remaining and encouraged
each board member to attend the concerts.
9.
ALLEN USA UPDATE
Tina Daniels reminded the board that Allen USA was June 29 and all members
were needed to help with the Art Tent. A brief overview of the tent and crafts

were presented.
10.
CITY WIDE POW WOW
Dee Hennigan is heading up this project and she was not at the meeting.
This item was tabled until Mrs. Hennigan can attend and present information.
11.
ELECT VICE -CHAIR
Jennifer Kiser was elected as Vice Chair.
