CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM IS PRESENT Sue Butler, Vice Chair, called the Regular Allen Arts Alliance Board Meeting to Order at 6.13 p.m. 2. APPROVE MINUTES FROM SEPTEMBER 6, 2005 REGULAR MEETING MOTION: Patrice Alessandra moved to approve the Minutes from the August 2, 2005 regular meeting. Kathy Litinas seconded and the Motion carried 4 in favor, 0 against. 3. CITIZENS COMMENTS Tom Keener, Allen Public Library spoke about upcoming events at the library. October 13 Allen High School Chamber Orchestra will be performing, October 19 is the Friends of the Library membership drive— Chocolate Orgy, November 8 authors Joyce Spizer & Jim Gatewood will be guest speakers. A Page 2 Allen Arts Alliance Board Meeting 4. ITEMS FOR INFORMATION a. Update on Non -Profit Status Lori Smeby informed the board that the Articles of Incorporation have been received. Lori will be meeting with the City Attorney to complete the submission of forms for a tax id number Once a tax id number is received the board will then be able to accept a check from the City of Allen and open a bank account. b. AFTA, Lynn Moore This item was tabled. 5. ITEMS FOR ACTION a. Nomination of New Board Members Kathy Litinas moved to elect Kevin P Kerr, Ejenobo "Jenna" R. Oke , Stefanie M. Best and Kari Boughton to the future non-profit Allen Arts Alliance Board. Denise Gilbert seconded and the Motion carried 4 in favor, 0 against. b. Art to Go Budget Request for October 2005 - September 2006 Patrice Alessandra moved to fund Art to Go in an amount up to $5,902.41 by the future non-profit Allen Arts Alliance; with an amount of $3,540.00 deducted from the City of Allen's allocation of funding to the future non- profit Allen Arts Alliance Board. The remaining amount will be addressed by the board in 2006. Sue Butler seconded and the Motion carried 4 in favor, 0 against. 6. OTHER a. Art to Go Update Kick off meeting was held Tuesday, Sept. 26 with more than 75 people in attendance. Portfolio storage cabinets will be installed in the library by the end of the week. 7.
