Min - City Council - 1963 - 04/18 - Special CalledC SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL. CITY OF ALLEN April 18, 1963 Present: Mayor Gentry T. Jones, Aldermen: Phil Pringle, C. E. Ottoway, Dean Sears, J. D. Smith and I. Oxford Special meeting of the City Council was called this date by Mayor Jones to consider an application for a building permit for a trailer park in Allen requested by Mr. Dan Strong. Mr Strong and Mr. W. E. Ford were present at the Council Meeting in regard to the proposed Trailer Park. All Council Members agreed that the requested building permit could be issued to Mr Strong with the following conditions: Trailer park lots to be in accordance with Mr Strong's plans presented to Council - 33 x 65 feet. Mr Strong, in laying the sewer line on his property would take necessary steps to see that the sewer line would maintain the "same Fall" as present line. Further, that there would be one water meter for the entire trailer park and that Mr Strong would he responsible to the city for payment of entire water bill. Further, that Mr Strong's plan called for 6 trailer lots, therefore, there would be 6 individual sewer taps, one for each lot, and that the base rate of $2.00 per month would levied on each tap whether in use or not and that this sewer charge would be added to Mr Strong's monthly water bill. Further, that "Redwood" fence, or comparable fence, would be put along the entire northern line of said trailer park, (this would be from "B" Street running East to Railroad property across the entire North line of Mr Strong's property), NOTE.:* All council members agreed on all points of the above conditions with exception to the lot sizes. Mr Sear;, Smith and Oxford agreed on the 33 x 65 lot sizes; Mr Pringle and Ottoway were in favor of 40 x 65 lots or larger. In regard to providing adequate water for the proposed Trailer Park; the council unanimously agreed on the following: The City of Allen will do the necessary ditch digging to Mr Strong's property in order to lay a 2" line(Continuation of present 2" line); the City will pay an amount comparable to the cost of 3/4" line and Yr Strong will pay the difference between the amount the City contributes and the actual cost of the 2" line. The above conditbons to be made a part of the building permit requ77.ring Mr Strong's signature before being properly executed. Mr Billy Du --ger and Mr Fred Cobb were present at the meeting for the purpose of bringing before the Council a problem of water drainage from Watson Drive. MOTION: by Mr Ottoway that the matter be tabled until the matter could be 'looked into further" (Continued next page) SPECIAL MEETING April 18, 1963 Continued Motion by Mr Ottoway; second by Phil Prin;le : Ages - 4; Noes - 0 Mr Cobb and Duager were assured that the problem would be remedied as quickly as 16ossible. Mr John Eriloe came before the City Council to ask that the City improve"N%rvice in Mr Enloe's section of Town. Theproblem seemed to be that to many houses were served by a\3/4" line. Lw& MOTION: by Mr Ottoway that the Mayor get an estimate on the cost of laying 500 feet of 2" line in that section of town and to proceed to resolve the problem. SECOND by T. Oxford. Ayes - 4; Noes - 0 Report on Fire Department given by T. Oxford; next meeting of Pire Department to be Tuesday, April 30, 1963 at 8:00 PM. MOTION: by T. Oxford that an amount of :800.00 be appropriated by the City for use by the Fire Department to Purchase equipment for the Department, and that they be notified that this money is available for their immediate use.
