Min - City Council - 1963 - 05/09 - RegularREGULI R MEETING OF THE CITY C07--NCIL, CITY OF ALLEN Allen, Texas May 9, 1963 Present: Mayor Gentry T. Jones: Aldermen - J. D. Smith; Dean Sears and Talmadge Oxford MOTION: By Dean Sears that presented bills be paid. Motion Second by J. D. Smith. 3 -ayes; O -Noes; Motion Carried. Discussion concerning Mr Dkn Terrellts complaint concerning the $4.00 monthly sewer bill on the Shell Station that he operates. T. Oxford reported that Mr Terrell had told him that he was satisfied that the 1?4.00 monthly charge was correct. Note:::: There are two (2) sewer taps at the Shell Station (Rest room and Wash Rack drain) Mayor and Council discussed the present situation concerning Sewer Tap Fees. MOTION: by Talmadge Oxford that all future sewer taps be a set fee of $75.00 and this is to include ONLY the tap to the main sewer line with no additional expense to the City of Allen. Any other expense will be coley the responsibility ' of the property owner concerned. MOTION SECOND by Dean Sears. Ayes -3; Noes - 0: Motion carried. Mayor and Council discussed installing additional "Lumenaire" Street Lights. MOTION: by Dean Searstthat additional "Lumenaire" street lights be installed from Lebanon Road north to overpass a t Rowlett Road along the service road east and adjacent to North Central Expressway. Additional Street lights to be extended along First Stree t? East to Highway #5 in uniformity with present "Lumenaire" Street lights. Further, to replace existing Street Light at High School with new type. MOTION SECOND by J. D. Smith. Ayes -3; Noes -0: Motion carried. Mayor and Council discussed having our Population Signs changed. MOTION: by Dean Sears that the Mayor contact the State Highway Dept. in regard to their changing our population signs and further to ask that City Limit Signs be placed on Central Expressway at the following points. To the South - at Bethany Road and Expressway; To the North - at Stacy Road and Expressway; To the East at Highway #5 and Wetsel Road at Wetsel Community. This request made in accordance with Ordinance #29 of the City of Allen. MOTION SECOND by Talmadge Oxford. Ayes - 3; Noes - 0; Motion carried. Mayor and Council discussed electing a Mayor Pro -tem for the new year. MOTION; by Dean Sears that Talmadge Oxford be ,ade Mayor Pro -tem for the remainder of his term of office.
