CITY COUNCIL , CITY OF ALLEN, ALLEN, TEXAS
Present : Mayor Gentry T. Jones , Aldermen Phil Pringle, C.E.
Ottaway, Talmadge L. Oxford and F. Dean Sears. Absent J.D. Smith.
A group of some 30 people were present from the Cottonwood
area to discuss the
future intent of a Sewer Plant in that section.
Mr. Holt was the spoksman for the guoup, he ( Mr. Holt )
presented their side on the matter, than some discussion with the
City Council, after which Mr. Holt said; he would select some
one from their community to keep in touch with the City Council
in regard to the development on the said Sewer Plant.
Mr Boyd Williams from the Texas Power & Light Company was
present and explained the rate decrease of approximately 22
.or the City of Allen, effective in the City of Allen, with the
Company's September billing period. Rate book was filed with the
Cit�p Secy.
' AN ORDINANCE ( 31 ) IMPOSING AN ADDITIONAL CAARGE ON
TEXAS POWER & LIGHT COMPANY IN AN AMOUNT EQUALING 259 OF
ITS GROSS REVENUES FROM SALE OF ELECTRICITY FROM
INDUSTRIAL, GOVERNMENTAL, AND MUNICIPAL BUSINESS IN THIS CITY.
Was read by Mayor Jones and passed with the following members
present, Phil Pringle, F. Dean Sears, C.E. Ottaway and T.L. Oxford.
Mr. Williams also deliver Ad a check to the City for r; 56.77
which represents 2% as applied to 11/12 of revenue on Industrial,
Govermental & Municipal revenues ( next payment to be concorrently
with Residential & Commercial Revenues ).
Mr. Ottaway made the motion that the above ORDINANCE be approved
and second by T.L. Oxford, ayes (4) Four / noes (0) none.
Mr. J.D. Buchanan, Jr. discussed the Bond Election with the
City Council. A certificate for canvass Ordinance of Bond Election
held on August 3rd 1963 was signed by the Mayor & Sec'y, figures,
were taken from talley sheet signed by election clerk Mrs Monroe
Angle.

Motion by Mr Oxford to pay bills sec by Mr Ottaway, motion
passed , ayes (4) four / noes (0) none
Motion by Mr. Ottaway to put a Street light at the south end
of West Avenue B South near the Trailer Park , sec. by Oxford
Motion passed ayes (4) four / noes (0) none.
