Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public Art
Committee was called to order by Chair Carriere at 6:35 pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in the
Parks and Recreation Conference Room at 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
Action Items
1. Conduct the Election of Secretary
Chair Carriere opened nominations for the positions. The elections concluded as follows.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Carriere and seconded by committee
member Bennett, the committee voted four (4) for and none (0) opposed to elect
Susan Barry to the office of Committee Secretary.
2. Approve minutes from the February 21, 2012 Regular Meeting.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Bennett and seconded by committee
member Barry, the committee voted four (4) for and none (0) opposed to accept
minutes from the February 21, 2012 regular meeting as presented.
3. Potential Future Project Discussion
Chair Carriere shares that he has revisited the Master Plan and has found that most of the projects
have been completed or are now obsolete. He then opens the Floor for discussion of potential
projects that will fit within the remaining budget. After discussion of possible options, the

committee will contact the Heritage Guild to inquire about the opportunity for a potential future
project at the Heritage Village.
Discussion Items
4. Update on Public Art Mapping Project
Ms. Harbert shared with the committee that she had met with the Public and Media Relations
office and was informed that the new City website rollout was nearly complete so work on the
Public Art website can begin soon. She then presented for the committee a mock Public An
website and explained some of the different placement and linking options that would be
available for the Public Art website, both from the City website and the Convention and Visitors
Bureau website.
5. Update of Exchange Parkway Median Project
Mr. McComb shared with the committee that he expected to receive the final plans for the project
the week of March 26 and at that time the project will go out to bid. Completion of the project is
still anticipated prior to the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year.
