Regular Meeting of the City Council, City of Allen
November 27th 1963
Meeting called to order by Mayor Gentry T. Jones,
Aldermen present : Phil Pringle, Talmadge Oxford, J.D. Smith,
C.E. Ottaway and F. Dean Fears.
Monthly bills were passed and checked.
Discussion : about the buying* of some Water Pipe, Mr. Ottaway moved
that we buy the Calvinized " AMERICAN"made Pipe from Bowles '_c Eden
upply Co.. Sec, by J.D. Smith, motion passed, ayes (5) five / noes
0) none.
ORJIN'UNCE : on closinP the Alley for the Allen Baptist Church, was read
by Mayor Gentry T. Jones, Mr Oxford moved that the City of .Allan accept
said Ordaniance, to be signed by .Mayor a City Sealy.- sec. by Dean
Sears. Motion passed- ayes (5) five / noes (0) none.
Ms. Herod e Mr Skiles of IIerod Fc Skiles Inc., Richardson, Texas
presented their Contract for approval of the City Council, Mr Sears
asked that some corrections be made on the percanti^;e Schedule as
out -lined in item (4) IV for compensation charges. The changes were
made and Mr Ottaway moved that the Council accept said contract with
Herod and Skiles Inc., sec by Phil Pringle, motion passed- Byes (5)
five / noes (0) none.
v Motion by Mr Sears that the Mayor be given the authority to have
the fall -out line for the Sewer run, second by Mr. Ottaway --motion
passed-- ayes (5) Five / noes (0) none,
Motion by Mr Ottaway that we employ Herod and Skiles to do the
surveying on the Sewer line for the City of Allen, second by J.D.
Smith,-- motion passed-- ayes (5) five -- noes (0) none.
Motion by Talmadge Oxford -that the Mayor be authorized to in-
stall a 6" or 8" water line from the Water Tower south to the Lebanon
road, and a 2" line east to service two duplex now bean¢ built by
Mr. Dement, sec, by Mr Ottaway, -motion passed -ayes (5)/noes(0) none.
Motion by Mr Ottaway that we have the City Engineers do some
inspecting on new sub divisions, Y,$LYXYPiigilfX%b%%x WATER LINES,
SLWL R LINES, STREETS is Ect., in the Whis-Lynge Hill addition at this
time. Sec, by J.D. Smith, motion passed, ayes (5) five/ noes (0) none.
Ns. Ottaway moved that we get the Street Light at W.W. Hefners
moved to the Whis-Lynge Hill add. Second by J.D. Smith, motion
passed, --ayes (5) five / noes (0) none.
Motion by Mr. Ottaway, second by Mr Sears that the next regular
meeting be moved up to Wednesdnite December lith 1963- 7:30 P.M.
