REGULAR MEETING

THE TOWN COUNCIL, ALLEN, TEXAS
May 14th, 1964
All members present except C. E. Ottaway.
Minutes of former meeting read and approved .
Mr. O. E. Lynge and Roy A. Hefner was present in regard to
rezoning some property from Zone B to Zone E. Ordinance pertaining
to rezoning this property was read by the City Council.
Motion by Phil Pringle to accept said ordinance. Seconded by
Jimmy Gantt . Motion Passed--Ayes 4, Noes none .
ORDINANCE #53
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE GENERAL ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN
OF ALLEN, TEXAS, SO THAT A PART OF ZONE B IS REZONED TO ZONE
E, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
Dean Sears and Eugene Tobaben were present to discuss the water
drainage problem at the corner of East Ave. C . South and Watson
Drive. They also requested a yeild-right-of-way sign to be placed
at the corner of East Ave. C South and Allenwood Drive.
Mr. Skiles of Herod & Skiles, city engineers, presented survey
on 50 acres in Tract #2 which was requested by the City Council. A
copy of this survey to be delivered to Alex Orr, City Attorney.
Discussion about buying a Fire Truck from C. E. Martin at the
cost of approximately $6,000. Truck to come up to the expectation
of the City Council. Motion by Phil Pringle to buy said fire truck.
Seconded by B. J. Enloe. Motion Passed-Ayes 4, Noes none.
A load of plant mix is to be delivered Friday, May 15, 1964.
Motion by Bill Whisenant that the Mayor be authorized to hire some-
one to help patch the streets . Seconded by Phil Pringle . Motion
passed--Ayes 4, Noes none.
Street Committee-recommendation; 1. That a "Squirt Top Job" should
be done on-(a) West Ave B. North from First Ave. to North Second and
North second from West Ave B North to West Ave. C North. (b) South
Second West from Lebanon Rd . to East Ave. C South. (c) East Ave. B
South from South Second West to First Street and East Ave. C from South
Third Street East to East First,
2. Streets in colored section of Allen to be graded .
3. Oil South Third Street East on south side of Allen Elementary School.
Motion by B.J. Enloe to accept the street recommendation. Seconded by
Jimmy Gantt. Motion passed--Ayes 4, Noes none.
Motion by Billy J . Enloe to pay bills . Seconded by R. B. Whisenant.
Motion Passed--Ayes 4, Noes none .
