Present : Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Aldermen--B. J. Enloe, Jimmy Gantt, C. E. Ottaway
R. B. Whisenant and Phil Pringle.
Bills were checked by the city council and motion by
R. B. Whisenant to pay bills presented. Seconded by C . E.
Ottaway. Passed ayes 5, noes none ,
Vernon G. Spurgin was present to discuss with the council,
a program for a garbage pickup in the city limits . Mayor Jones
talked with the City Attorney about franchise for Mr. Spurgin
and the city. Mr. Orr stated that he would like to discuss a
contract or permit with Mr. Spurgin and the city in regard to
the pickup of garbage. Mr. Ottaway, Mr. Gantt and Phil Pringle
were appointed to serve with the Mayor on a committee to work
out the details on the contract to be approved by the City
Council at the next regular meeting. Mr. Ottaway is appointed
Chairman of said Committee. The committee is to meet with Mr.
Orr at his office in McKinney at 5:30 P.M. Friday, Nov. 6th, 1964.
W.E. Ford was present to discuss with the council plans
on moving a house on a lot north of John Cashion property.
Motion by C . E. Ottaway that we give Mr. Ford a permit to move
the house on Lot 1E, Block B of Old Donation with a front
set-back of approximately 20feet from the ditch line. Seconded
by R. B. Whisenant, Motion Passed Ayes 5, Noes none.
Motion by Phil Pringle to instruct our City Engineer, Mr.
Skiles who was present at this meeting, to set up house numbers
for the entire city of Allen. Seconded by B.J. Enloe. Motion
Passed . Ayes 5, noes none.
Motion by C. E. Ottaway to adjorn meeting. Seconded by
B. J . Enloe.
