DECEMBER 3rd, 1964
Present: Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Aldermen-R. B. Whisenant, B. J. Enloe, Phil Pringle,
Jimmy Gantt and C. E. Ottaway.
Motion by B. J. Enloe to pay bills presented by Secretary.
Seconded by R. B. Whisenant. Motion Passed Ayes 5 Noes none.
Charles Fowler, our Fire Chief was present to discuss with the
council about buying a siren and 1000 to 1500 feet of fire hose.
Motion by B. J. Enloe to buy hose needed. Seconded by Jimmy Gantt.
Motion Passed Ayes 5 noes none.
Motion by Phil Pringle to buy a 5 horse power siren, subject to
checking with the Texas Power and Light Co. regarding cost of installing
and operation. Seconded by C. E. Ottaway. Motion passed Ayes 5, noes
none.
Mr. Fowler reported to the council some of the things that the Fire
Department expects of the City Council for attendance and service.
Motion by C. E. Ottawya that the City Council alott $100.00 per month
to be paid to the Fire Department General Fund for optional use of the
Fire Department, provided that an average of 17 members attend each
meeting. This plan to be reviewed by the Council at the and of a 6
month period. Payment to be made beginning February 1, 1965. Seconded
by R. B. Whisenant. Motion passed Ayes, 5; noes none.
Mr. C. E. Ottaway presented Ordinance regarding garbage service
with Vernon G. Spurgin.
Motion by Phil Pringle to except Ordinance -#54-Garbage Service
Ordinance--as amended. Seconded by Jimmy Gantt. Motion passed Ayes, 5;
Noes,none.
Motion by Phil Pringle that we except the street numbering as
set out by our City Engineers for the City of Allen. Seconded by
Jimmy Gantt. Motion passed Ayes, 5; Noes, none.
