Present : Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Aldermen--Jimmy Gantt, R. B. Whisenant, B.J. Enloe,
Phil Pringle and C. E. Ottaway
Mr. Herod and Mr. Skiles, our city engineers were present.
Mr. Newell of Texas Power and Light Co. was present to offer
a rate reduction to the City of Allen. Motion By B. J. Enloe to
except the rate schedule presented by Mr. Newell to be signed by the
secretary, Seconded by Jimmy Gantt. Passed Ayes 5, Noes none.
Motion by Phil Pringle to re-route the 6" waterline-North along
E. Ave. C North to North 3rd to Ave AA North, Then north on Ave. AA
to a point for a fire plug. Seconded by C. E. Ottaway. Motion passed
Ayes 5, Noes none. Bids for laying the 6" water line were opened and
checked,
Motion by C. E. Ottaway that Mr. John Enloe be instructed to put in the
water line. Seconded by Phil Pringle. Motion passed Ayes 5, Noes none.
Billy Joe Stubbs was present to ask the City Council to pay him
for the 2" water line which he had laid to the Stubbs Addition. This
begins at the South East corner of the W. R. Taylor property and runs
across the property where the Church of Christ is located and on to the
Stubbs Addition.
The Council discussed with Mr. Stubbs about the dedication of the
streets in the Stubbs Addition. Mr. Stubbs is to bring a plat of his
property for the approval of the City Council.
Our City Attorney, Mr. Alex Orr, was present for any discussion
the city Council might have.
Mayor Jones discussed the possibility of a raise for Mr. Ereckson.
Motion by R. B. Whisenant to give Gene Ereckson a $25.00 raise.
No second.
Motion by C. E. Ottaway that the council approve two large lights
for the cemetery and 1 small light on the north end of Ave. AA North.
Seconded by B.J. Enloe. Passed Ayes 5, noes none.
Motion by Billy Joe Enloe to pay bills presented by City Secretary.
Seconded by R. B. Whisenant. Ayes 5, Noes none.
Mr. B. J. Enloe was appointed to check on the price of a heater
for the Fire Department.
Meeting adjorned by B. J. Enloe. Seconded by Jimmy Gantt.
