Meeting Minutes- Tuesday, December 4, 2012
The meeting was held at the Allen Animal Shelter and convened at 7:00 p in. Present at the meeting
were members Dr. Alan Coffman, Dawn Blue, Justin Schiffner, Kathy May and Vikki Francis.
Vice Chairperson, Dawn Blue, called the meeting to order at T 10 p in.
Approval of the Minutes from August 29, 2012
The minutes were approved by unanimous consent.
Council Liaison
None were present from the meeting.
Election of Officers
Chairperson- Justin Schmffer nominated Dawn Blue for chairperson and committee members voted
unanimously for Dawn Blue to Chair the committee.
Vice Chairperson- Dawn Blue nominated Justin Schiffner for vice -chairperson and committee
members voted unanimously for Justin Schmffer to be Vice Chair.
Secretary- Due to ordinance requiring Animal Control Supervisor to be the Secretary-Vikki Francis
remains in that position.
Discussion
Spay/Neuter Equipment-Proeress
Vikki Francis advised that she has the list from the Vets of equipment needed and has a meeting set up
on December 10, 2012 with the supplier to get the cost of equipment and start getting it ordered
Vikki Francis advised that she is still applying for grants in all aspects to benefit the animals and has
received a grant from the Petfrnder.com Foundation for Thundershirts. The rest of the grants for
spay/neuter have not panned out due to the shelter euthanizmg animals.
Items of Interest
Vikki Francis advised the committee that the City Board Banquet would be held December 14, 2012 at
the Hilton Gardens.
Vikki Francis advised Dawn Blue as the Chair for the committee she would be doing the annual
presentation to the City Council was going to be in March 2013 and would get the exact date to her.
For record the date is March 26, 2013. Vikki Francis would do the Power Point presentation and get a
copy to her before the council meeting.
Vikki Francis announced that she would be retiring on December 28, 2012 and that there would be a
reception on December 20, 2012 at the Senior Center and the committee members would be getting
invitations in the mail.
Next Meetine/Adiourn
The next meeting was set for March 6, 2013 at 7'00 p.m. at the Allen Animal Shelter Dawn Blue
adjourns the meeting at 746 p.m.
