Present : Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Aldermen- C. E. Ottaway, Jimmy Gantt, Phil Pringle,
and B. J. Enloe.
Absent : R. B. Whisenant-Alderman.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Earl Young was present to talk with the Council
about getting the east end of South 3rd St. East dedicated as a
city street. The Council advised him to get a list of property
owners along said street to be dedicated to the city.
Motion by C. E. Ottaway to put a load of rock at the north end
of Young Street. Seconded by B. J. Enloe. Motion Passed--
Ayes 4. Noes none.
Motion by C. E. Ottaway to pay bills presented to the
Council by the City Secretary. Seconded by B. J. Enloe. Motion
Passed--Ayes 4. Noes none .
Stubbs Addition plot was studied by the City Council.
Motion By B. J. Enloe that we turn the plot over to the City
Attorney for advise on the width and location of streets,
Seconded by Phil Pringle. Motion passed--Ayes 4. Noes none.
Motion by C . E. Ottaway to have our City Secretary
contact our bondsman for a run-down on our General Obligation
Bond Sales . Seconded by Jimmy Gantt . Motion Passed--Ayes 4,
Noes none.
Motion by Phil Pringle that we have the street numbers
worked out as marked in red on the street map and brought before
the Council for approval. Seconded by C. E. Ottaway. Motion
passed--Ayes 4, Noes none.
Motion by Jimmy Gantt to give Mrs. Cassady a permit
to remodel her house. Seconded by Phil Pringle. Motion Passed--
Ayes 4, Noes none.
Motion by C. E. Ottaway giving the City Secretary
authority to ask each newcomer to fill out sheets prepared by
David Worden. Seconded by Jimmy Gantt. Motion Passed--Ayes 4,
noes None.
