CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS
April 1, 1965
Present: Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Adlermen--Phil Pringle, Jimmy Gantt, Bill Enloe, and C.E. Ottaway
Absent: R.B. Whisenant
The City Secretary was instructed to have Mr. Orr, our Attorney, notify
Mr. J.M. Clay to move his yard fence out of the alley so that they alley will
be open to enable the garbage to be picked up.
Motion by Jimmy Gantt to pay bills presented by city secretary. Seconded
by C.E. Ottaway. Motion passed--Ayes-4, Noes none.
Herod and Skiles, our city engineers, presented the Mayor and City Council
with sealed bids on the water lines from West Ave. C South to East Ave. C South
in South Second Street. Bids were opened as follows: Cullum Construction Co.,
Inc. and G.W. Cullum and Co. by Robert L. Sutton.
City Council discussed with engineers on Plano Specifications and Contract
Documents on street work to be done on South Second, East Ave. C and East Ave
B.
Motion by Bill Enloe to approve the specks on the asphalt and concrete work to
be let for bids and engineers are to advertise for bids on the work. Seconded
by Jimmy Gantt. Motion passed--Ayes 4, Noes none. (Bids are to be opened at
our next regular meeting which will be April 15th 1965.)
Motion by Jimmy Gantt- that the council approve the action of the Mayor
on sending the Fire Truck out to flush out sewer lines for the sanitation
protection of the Citizens of the City fo Allen. Seconded by Phil Pringle.
Motion passed--Ayes 4, Noes none
