Call to Order and Announce a Ouorum is Present
With a quorum of the Board members present, the Regular Meeting of the Allen Public Library was called to
order by Jo Long, Board Chair at 7.36 p.m. on Tuesday January 3, 2006, in the Board Room of the Allen Public
Library, 300 North Allen Drive, Allen, Texas.
1. Citizen's Comments.
There were no Citizen Comments.
2. Approve Minutes of the December 6, 2005, Regular Meeting.
The Library Board approved the minutes of the December 6, 2005 regular meeting with corrections to the
spelling of the Bakery Elke's and Donna Drews Various names.

3. Review Monthly Activity Report and Suggestion Forms.
The Library Board reviewed the monthly statistics and activity report.
4. Consider Community Survey Draft.
Development Coordinator, Tom Keener with the library discussed the survey draft with the library board.
Various revisions to questions were suggested to consolidate the reduce the length of the survey At the
next board meeting, the revisions will be reviewed including adding a column for "awareness" of programs
to the table.
5. Annual Report.
The library board tabled this discussion until next month's board meeting.
6. Other Business
Allen Public Library will be receiving a JobView Kiosk that lists jobs from the Dallas Morning News
employment section for the benefit of library patrons.

• Saturday, January 21, 2006 — Open House for the Senior Center, 1:00-4:00 p.m.
• Thursday, January 12, 2006 — Junior Friends Hansel and Gretel Play in the Auditorium.
• February 7, 2006, regular board meeting.
The Library Board meeting adjourned at 8:58 P.M.
