Min - Animal Shelter Advisory Committee - 2019 - 03/27 - Regular ANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING MARCH 27,2019 Present: Absent: Deborah Michnick,Chair Robin Sedlacek, City Council Liaison Pamela Ackerman,Vice-Chair Gail Smallin, Secretary Dr.Alan Coffman Sharyn King Call to Order With a quorum of the Board members present,the Regular Meeting of the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee was called to order by Chair Michnick at 7:08 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at the Animal Shelter Conference Room located in the Allen Animal Shelter, 707 S Allen Heights Drive,Allen,Texas 75002. 1. Approve Minutes of the November 28,2018 Regular Meeting and the February 5,2019 Special Called Meeting. The minutes for both meetings were approved by the acclamation of the board. 2. Introduction of new Animal Control Officer Maria Morrison. With the addition of Officer Morrison,the Animal Shelter is now fully staffed. 3. Update on adoptable kennel floor replacement warranty issue. Chair Michnick provided an update on the epoxy floor surface in the kennel after some chipping and small pitting were observed.The installing company will make the necessary repairs in one(1)day and all repairs are covered under warranty. 4. Update on recent City Council Ordinance and Fee Resolution presentation. Ordinance changes in Chapter 3 (three)were unanimously accepted by the City Council. Changes to the fee schedule for animal control charges were unanimously accepted after the Senior Discount for unsterilized animals was rejected and changed to a full rate fee. 5. Update on new pet registration tags and PetData on-line registration implementation. PetData on-line registration is currently on-line, and there has been an increase in pet registrations. 6. Update on 911 Wildlife Seminar and coyote/bobcat concerns. With the increase of coyote sightings, shelter staff conducted a forum on March 21 for citizens. 7. Discuss and Make a Recommendation to the City Council regarding Proposed Revisions to Chapter 3 Standard Operating Procedures for the shelter will be completed by the end of April ANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING MARCH 27,2019 PAGE 2 8. Discuss Upcoming Events April 7-13, 2019 -National Dog Bite Prevention Week April 7-13,2019-National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week. April 9,2019—Supervisor Michnick will give an activity report to city council. Adjournment MOTION: Upon a motion made by Chair Michnick and a second by Dr. Coffman, the Board voted Five (5) for and none (0) opposed to adjourn the Regular Meeting of the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee at 7:46 p.m. on Wednesday,March 27, 2019.
