CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS
June 4, 1965
Present: Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Aldermen: R.B. Whisenant, Jimmy Gantt and Dan Strong.
Absent: Aldermen: Ken Posey and B.J. Enloe
Meeting called to order by Mayor Jones. Minutes of previous meeting
read and approved.
The council discussed the expense of moving fence out of easement
behing Mr. J.M. Clay's property. Mr. & Mrs. Clay gave their permission
for the city to move the fence at the city's expense. Jimmy Gantt
was appointed by Mayor Jones to get prices on moving the fence.
Bids were opened for Sewer Work to be done at the well. Labor and
material are included in the following prices:
John Enloe........$525.00
Gilbert Garland....914.00
Robert L. Sutton..1178.00
Motion by Jimmy Gantt to accept bid on sewer line presented by John
Enloe. Seconded by R.B. Whisenant. Motion passed--Ayes 3, Noes none.
The following men were present to be interviewed by the council for
the job of night-watchman or policeman: Mr. Ernest Mills, Jr. representing
Greater Dallas Patrol, Mr. Arvel Johnson of Cullecka and Mr.
Joe Dunagan of Kerens. The following were presented by letters received
by the City Secretary: Earl Miner, of Dallas, William D. Wallace of
Dallas, and Frederich D. Smith of Dallas. No decision or motion was
made by the council at this time.
Motion by Jimmy Gantt to pay bills presented by the City Secretary.
Seconded by R.B. Whisenant. Motion passed--Ayes 3, noes none.
Motion by Jimmy Gantt to have our city engineers check and approve
bill from Robert L. Sutton before payment is made. Seconded by Dan
Strong. Motion passed--Ayes 3, noes none.
Motion by Dan Strong to adjorn meeting.
