Call to Order and Announce a Ouorum is Present
With a quomm of the Board members present, the Regular Meeting of the Allen Public Library was called to
order by Board Chair, Jo Long, at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 in the Board Room of the Allen Public
Library, 300 North Allen Drive, Allen, Texas.
1. Citizen's Comments.
There were no Citizen Comments.
2. Approve Minutes of the March 20, 2007, Regular Meeting.
Motion: Upon A motion made by Board Member, Mary Jane Hamilton, and a second by Board
Member, Donald Wing, the Board voted (6) for and none (0) opposed to approve the March 20, 2007
Library Board minutes with two corrections.
3. Review Monthly Statistics and Suggestion Forms.
The Library Board reviewed the Monthly Statistics and read all of the Suggestion Forms.

1 4. Planning for 40" Anniversary.

The library board discussed various programs and activities for the 40' anniversary of the library in
October. Some of these include:
A program of different cultures every Sunday afternoon.
Czechoslovakia Band
:• School Dancers
Jay Conrad — Craft Programs such as quilting and decorative painting
40 years of Broadway
Movies for 1967
Author's Day with light refreshments
:• Speaker, Entertainer
:• Essay Contest (4 groups) 1-3 grades, 4-6 grades, 7-12 grades and Adults
with prizes for each category
Cake Contest — kickoff
Bonkers the Clown with balloons
Mayor — Proclamation
:• Buy a page of advertising in the Allen Image
Culminating October 27, 2007
5. Items of Interest.
The Teens and Children's theme this summer will be "Sail Away With Books." The teens are
collecting 9oz water bottles for one of their activities.
6. Calendar:
i• April 30, 2007 —Day of Remembrance, Max Glauben — 7:00 PM.
❖ May 12007, Regular Library Board Meeting.
