Min - City Council - 1965 - 07/15 - RegularREGULAR MEETING CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS July 15, 1965 Present : Mayor Gentry T. Jones Aldermen--R, B. Ehisenant, Jimmy Gantt, Ken Posey, Dan Strong and B. J. Enloe Absent : None Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem Jimmy Gantt. Minutes of former meeting were read and apprred. Mayor Jones appointed Dan Strong, R. B. Whisenant and Jimmy Gantt to check the elevation of the new sewer line at the well property, which our city engineer Mr. Herod states is incorrect. Our city engineer was instructed to get three bids on 8" water line to the new Shell Service Station property. Motion by Jimmy Gantt to pay bills presented by City Secretary. Seconded by Dan Strong. . Motion passed --Ayes 5, noes none. The Council discussed the cost of fixing the tank on the Old Fire Truck. Motion was made by R. B. Whisenant to allocate $200. for the purpose of fixing the tank on said truck. Motion seconded by Dan Strong. Passed Ayes 5, noes none. C. W. Monaghen, an Allen citizen, was present to inquire about the job of Night-Watchman in Allen. He was requested by the Council to file an employment application with the City Secretary. The Council discussed the posibility of obtaining water from Lavon for the City of Allen in the future. Mayor Jones and City Secretary will contact the Chief Engineer at Lavon to obtain any information concerning this project. Meeting adjorned by Mayor Jones .
