Call to Order and Announce a Ouorum is Present
With a quorum of the Board members present, the Regular Meeting of the Allen Public Library was called to
order by Ruth Pringle, Secretary at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday September 02, 2003, in the Library Meeting Room of
the Allen Public Library, 2 Allen Civic Plaza, 301 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.

Motion: Upon a motion made by Board member, Donna Vanous and a second by Board member, In
Long, the Board voted (4) for and none (0) opposed to pass the August Minutes.
Meeting Adjourned to the Young Writer's Reception.
Library Board attended the Young Writer's Reception honoring the Young Writers that participated in
the Young Writer Program at the Allen Public Library
LIBRARY BOARD RE -CONVENED BOARD MEETING.
The Board Meeting was called back to order by Board Chair, Cal Calvin who came in late and also
Board member, John Ross.
Other Business
Library Director, Barbara Buehler explained about the exterior of the new civic auditorium. It is being
redesigned to meet City codes.
The contract for the new library and civic auditorium will be awarded by September 23rd at the City
Council Meeting. The proposed date for the Library ground breaking ceremony is October 21" at 9:00
A.M. at the new library site.
Library Director, Barbara Buehler gave each board member a packet containing Meeting Room Policies
from other libraries. The board is to review them for later discussion.

• October 07, 2003, Allen Public Library Board, Regular Meeting.
• October 15, 2003, NETLS Meeting in Jacksonville.
10. Adjourn
Motion: Upon a motion made by Board member, Donna Various and a second by Board member, Julia
Elina, the Board voted (6) for and none (0) opposed to adjourn the board meeting.
