September 23, 1965
Present : Mayor Gentry TT Jones
Councilmen—B.J. Enloe, Ken Posey, Jimmy Gantt and Dan Strong,
Absent : R.B. Whisenant
Alex Orr, City Attorney and Mr. Looney, owner of Southern Sanitation
Compnay present to discuss a contract to be drawn up between the City
of Allen and Southern Sanitation Company for the purpose of trash and
garbage pickup. Mr. Looney will begin garbage and trash pickup in the
City of Allen Wednesday, October 6th, 1965.
Motion by B.J. Enloe to give Mr. Looney a permit for trash hauling
inside the Allen City Limits. Seconded by Jimmy Gantt. Motion passed--
Ayes 4, noes none.
John Enloe was present to ask the Council for a permit for enlarging
a stock tank on his property. The Council informed him that the City
of Allen does not have an Oridinance covering this type of permit.
Mr. Leon Ussery, Auditor for the city, was present to discuss with the
Council the possibility of changing the City bookkeeping system.
Motion by B.J. Enloe to have Mr. Ussery make necessary changes in
our present bookkeeping system. Seconded by Dan Strong. Motion passed--
Ayes 4, noes none.
This new system will cost approximately $300. to $500.
