The November 7, 1995 regular meeting of the Allen Library Board was called
to order at 7:32 PM by Board Chair Fritz Dietrich. Board members present
were Terri Perry, Eric Liepins, Donna Vanous and Carl Williams. Also
present were Library Director Barbara Buehler and Coordinator of the
Northeast Texas Library System (NETLS) Dale Fleeger. Board member
Sharon Curtis was absent; Board member Julie Wilmoth arrived later as had
been expected.

Eric Liepins made a motion to approve the minutes of the October 3, 1995
meeting; Carl Williams seconded and the minutes were approved.
III.
Barbara Buehler reported on Friends' activities. The October 19 general
membership meeting included a short business meeting to review the budget as
presented by the executive Board and to vote on the revised by-laws, which
were approved as submitted. Afterwards, Tom Keener, Community
Development Coordinator for the city of Allen and a native Texan and
historian presented a talk on "The history of Allen." Approximately 25 people
attended, including Friends members, and members of the Allen Historical
Society as well as others. The next planned program will take place on Sunday
afternoon, January 21 when a musical trio will perform.

Buehler then introduced Dale Fleeger who had been asked to present an
overview of the Texas State Library System, its origins, operations, funding
sources and importance for local libraries, like Allen's.

Buehler reminded Board members of the December 6 annual dinner to honor
all members of the city's boards and commissions.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:10 PM.
