Present : Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Aldermen : Dan Strong, Ken Posey, Jimmy Gantt,
Bill Enloe and Raliegh B. Whisenant.
James H. Perry, Mr. Herod, H.L. Cain.
Mayor Jones asked Mr. Perry of BETTS, PERRY and SMITH to explain
the preparation of a General/Plan for the future development, to
the City Council, after his explanation A
Motion by Mayor Gentry T. Jones was made, that we go ahead and
sign the AGREEMENT with Mr. Perrys firm and to pay Mr. Perry
$ 500.00 at this time. Second by R.D. Whisenant, motion passed
ayes (4) four for-- (1) one obstained, Kin Posey.
Motion : By Ken Posey
To issue $15,000.00 worth of warrants to be paid over a peroid
of (10) ten years for Street improvement, second by Jimmy Gantt
motion passed --ayes (5) Five /noes (0) none.
Contracts for Street improvment was opened and read by Mayor
Jones as follows :
Austin $ 10,985.00
Uvalde 10,861.10
Texas 10,695.00
General 9,146.00
McInerney 9,306.00 less $ 427.00-Bal. $ 8,879.00
Motion by Jimmy Gantt
For the Mayor too sign the Contract for the Street word with
B.P. McInerney & Company. Second by Bill Enloe. Motion passed
ayes (5) / Noes (0) none.
Motion by Jimmy Gantt
To pay current bills second by R.B. Whisenant, Motion
passed ayes (5) five / Noes (0) none.
A letter was read from Mr. J.M.Whisenant with reference to laying
A sewer line along Lebanon Road, the letter states that A four inch
line can be laid for $1.25 per foot, however A six inch line will
cost $1.65 per foot. Which makes A difference of 40¢ per foot
for a distance of approximately 300 feet at 40¢ per foot too be
paid by the City of Allen.
Motion by Jimmy Gantt to approve the Sewer Line for Mr. Whisenant
second by R.B. Whisenant. Motion passed -ayes (5)--noes (0) none.
