City Council, City of Allen, Allen, Texas.
Members present : Mayor Gentry T. Jones, Aldermen Jimmy Gantt, Ken
Posey, Dan Strong, Bill Enloe and R.B. Whisenant.
Mr. Betts, Perry and Skiles was also present.
Minutes of former meeting read and approved .
Mr. Perry states the need for a planing committee for the future.
He also presented a workable program for Community Improvement
for small communities, to be studied by the City Council, and
with the Council approval to be signed by Mayor Jones.
Motion: By Bill Enloe, THAT THE CITY COUNCIL ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH
BETTS PERRY & SMITH FOR ENGINEERING STUDY; AND TO MAKE APPLICATION
FOR GOVERMENT LOAN TO COVER THIS COST. THIS CONTRACT IS CONTINGENT
ON LOAN APPROVAL. AND FOR TUE CONTRACT TO BE SIGNED BY MAYOR
G.T. JONES. SECONED BY JIMMY GANTT, MOTION PASSED. AYES 5 NOES 0.
Motion: By Dan Strong that we give Betts, Perry & Smith $200,00 retainer
fee . Sedond by Bill Enloe, motion passed. Ayes 5 Noes 0.
Motion: By R. B. Whisenant that Mr. Story be appointed as Director
of the Planning Committee. Second by Bill Enloe, passed with
ayes 5 noes 0.
Motion: By R. B. Whisenant that we approve the Zoning map dated Nov. 1,
1965, second by Bill Enloe, motion passed. Ayes 5 Noes 0.
Motion: By Jimmy Gantt to approve the land subdivision regulation.
Second by Ken Posey, Ayes 5 Noes 0.
Motion: By Bill Enloe to pay bills . Second by Jimmy Gantt, motion passed.
Ayes 5 Noes 0.
Motion: By Jimmy Gantt for the mayor to have our City Attorney, Alex Orr
appeal the Plano versus Allen Suit (Sewer) , second by Dan Strong,
motion passed, ayes 5 noes 0.
