L The November 4, 1997 Allen Public Library Board meeting was called to order at 7,30 p in by
Board Chairperson, Fritz Dietrich. Members present were Donna Vanous. Rhonda Grigg, Joe
Defenderfer, Frank Snidow, John Ross, and Mary Val -Grube. Also present were Library
Director Barbara Buehler, and the Northeast Texas Library System (NETLS) Coordinator Dale
Fleeger. Also Friends President Debbie Vavm was present.
Il. The Board reviewed the minutes of the October 7, 1997 meeting. D. Vanous moved to approve
the minutes. F Snidow seconded the motion Motion carried
HL Election of Officers was conducted for the upcoming year via nominations and majority vote.
Fritz Dietrich was reelected to the position of Chairman Donna Vanous was reelected to the
position of Vice -Charman Rhonda Grigg was elected to the position of Secretary
IV. There were no written suggestions submitted to the library during the previous month. The
Board renewed and discussed the statistic reports from August and September for library usage.
V. B. Buehler evaluated the results of the 30' Anniversary Celebration. The book fair fundraising
resulted in 1200 for the library. A thank you note from Mrs. Laura Bush was shared with Board
members.
VL Dale Fleeger provided a NETLS orientation session to the Library Board members on behalf of
the newer appointees.
VII- In Other Business, the Board Appreciation dinner scheduled for December 3, 1997 was
announced. A NETLS meeting is scheduled in be held in Garland on December 16, 1997. A
request was made for a presentation by the Friends of the Library on the group's program.
VIM R Grigg moved to adjourn the meeting. F Dietrich seconded the motion. The meeting was
adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
