I.
The regular meeting of the Allen Public Board meeting was called to order at 3 45 p.m. by
Board Chairperson Donna Vanous. Members present were Various, Joe Defenderfer, Frank
Snidow, Mary Vail -Grube, Dee Teel and Rhonda Grigg. Also present were Library Director
Barbara Buehler and Library staff persons Margaret Marshall, Manta Richards, Theresa Seale
and Don Horton, Parks Director. John Ross had notified the Board in advance that he would be
absent

The Board approved the minutes of the September 1, 1998 meeting as amended.
III.
The tabulated results of the preliminary evaluations of the architect firths bidding on the Library
expansion protect were reviewed. PSA elected to withdraw from the selection process because of a
new development in their existing project workload
V.
Three firms were interviewed by the Library Board, library staff and the Parks and Recreation
supervisor. The three firms were Hidell & Associates, F&S Partners and Ron Hobbs Architects.
Upon completion of the interviews, the Board requested that Barbara Buehler conduct a follow-up
interview with Hidell & Associates via phone to clarify several questions before a final
recommendation is advanced to the City Council
V.
In other business, the annual City of Allen Appreciation Dinner is scheduled for Wednesday,
December 2 at the EI Dorado Country Club New officers will be elected during the next Board
meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
