Present Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Aldermen : Ken Posey, Dan Strong, Bill Whisenant, Zack Robinson.
Absent : Bill Enloe .
Present : Walter Curtis, Walter Hicks, Eng.
Walter Curtis asked the council to pay him for assessing the
city taxes, he asked for 2% on 95% bases, the same that he
gets from the school.
Motion : by R. B. Whisenant that the city pay Mr. Curtis 2%
of the 95% of the value on rendation.
Second : By Dan Strong, motion passed, ayes 4, noes O.
Mr. Ricks, Eng. brought the council up to date on the work with
reference to the sewer survey. .
Gene Ereckson presented to the council a storm sewer cleaner,
and Bill Whisenant was to check out this company that demonstrated
it to Mr. Ereckson and also to check out other companies that
carry the same machine.
Motion : by R. B. Whisenant to pay bills presented by the city
secretary.
Second : by Ken Posey, motion passed, ayes 4, noes 0.
Mayor Jones recommended that we pay Mrs Chapin $1.50 per hour.
Motion by Dan Strong that we raise Mrs . Chapin from $1.30 to
$1.50 beginning as of January 1, 1967.
Second : by Ken Posey, motion passed, ayes 4 , noes 0.
City secretary checked with Mr. Hicks about buying the Methodist
Church property, Mr. Hicks felt that it could not be purchased
with bond money but for the city to check with Mr. J.D. Buckhannan, Jr.
Dan Strong told the council that Mr. Kelley Lamb is the Fire Chief
and that he, Dan Strong is the Assistant Fire Chief, now.
