CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ALLEN
April 6, 1967
Present : Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Aldermen, R. B. Whisenant, Mack Holloway, J. D. Smith,
Zack Robinson.
Absent : Roy Ewen
Citizens : Mr. Cass, Mr. Westerman, Mr. Bill Reaves, Mr.
Paul Knight, and Mr. Pat Wade.
Engineer : Walter Hicks
Minutes from the last meeting read and approved.
J. D.Smith and Mack Holloway were sworn in by Mayor Jones as new
elected aldermen.
Votes cast in the city election April 4, 1967 for aldermen,
Dan Strong-- 96, Roy Ewen--131, Mack Holloway--105, J. D. Smith--115.
Mr. Cass And Mr. Westerman were here to discuss with the council
about yard fenceing. The council discussed this matter and will ,
inform Mr. Cass and Mr. Westerman of their decision.
Pat Wade, Bill Reaves, and Paul Knight was present to discuss the
dance hall, they felt it was being operated in a proper manner.
The council will notify them of their decision.
Mr. George Martin, policeman asked the city council if they would
be interested in buying a used radar for the city.
Mr. Hicks, our engineer brought the council up to date on the
sewer project. Plans and specification for sewerage system
improvement was explained by Mr. Hicks.
Motion : by R. B. Whisenant that we approve the plans presented
by Wisenbaker, Fix. and Associates, contract #845, for sewer system
improvement for the City of Allen.
Second ; by Zack Robinson, motion passed, ayes 4 , no 0.
Mr. Story is to check with Carl Marion, County Commissioner re-
garding poisioning grass along roadways.
Motion : by R. B. Whisenaftt to pay bill presented by secretary.
Second : by Zack Robinson, motion passed, ayes 4, noes 0.
Mr. Story is to check about place ballots with Mr. Orr.
