Present : Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Aldermen J.D. Smith, LeRoy Ewen, Mack Holloway,
Zack Robinson and Raleigh B. Whisenant .
Visitors Mr. Raymond Neal,Rebecka Morelock, J.D. Goodman
Discussions : report on the Fogging machine for spraying the City
is that it will cost app. $ 550.00
-What control does the City have over the Fire Dept.
Mr Neal from the Lone Star Gas Co., discussed with the Council about
a raise in rates . An Ordinance fixing and determining the general
service rates to be changed for Sale of Natural Gas to residential
and Commerical consumers wtthin the City limits of Allen, Collin
County, Texas, and providing for the manner in which such rates may
be changed, adjusted and amended and declaring an emergency.
Motion : by Zack Robinson too sign agreement of said Ordinance as drawn
by the LONE STAR GAS COMPANY. Motion second by J.D. Smith.
Motion passed ayes 5, noes none.
Mrs Morelock, asked the Council for a permit to operate a Beauty
Salon on the corner of West Ave D, north and North 2nd West.
Motion : by Zack Robinson to Grant Mrs Morelock a Special Permit for a
Beauty Salon at 122 West Ave D north. Motion second by J.D. Smith,
motion passed ayes 5 , noes none.
however; it is understood that this is a tempory permit and is to
be renewed at the first regular meeting of the City Council in
May of each Year.
Mr. J.D. Goodman Jr. talked with the Council about a office bldg.
to be placed on lot 11-Blk 7- OD.
Motion by J.D. Smith for Mr Goodman too place the building on the back
side of the lot, Concele the roof, either with a false roof or
with a Sign " Painted " - false beam at the bottom, - entire
structure to be presentable and neat. Motion second by Mack
Holloway. - Motion passed ayes 5 noes 0.
Motion by J .D. Smith to pay the bills presented by the City Secy.- Motion
second by R.B. Whisenant. Motion passed ayes 5 noes 0 .
Motion by R.B. Whisenant that the Equalization Board meeting for the City
of Allen be set for May 18th 1967-7:30 p.m. at the City hall.
Motion second by LeRoy Ewen . Motion passed ayes 5 - noes 0.
Motion by R.B. Whisenant too transfure the garbage fund too the General
Fund, and be made a permanent part of the General Fund. Motion
second by Zack Robinson. Motion passed ayes 5 noes 0.
Motion by R.B. Whisenant to transfer $4 ,000.00 from the Revenue Fund to
the General Fund . Motion second by J.D. Smith. - Motion passed
ayes 5 - noes 0.
