Present : Mayor G. T. Jones
Aldermen : Zack Robinson, Roy Ewen, R. B. Whisenant,
J. D.Smith, & Mack Holloway.
Engineer, Walter Hicks, and Judge Ramsey.
Minutes read and approved with correction on 30 day investigation.
Mr Hicks, Engineer reported he was ready to advertise for bids
on water well, he explained the bids and items, the working of
the pump and what guarantee we will have of getting water and
the different requirment expected of the driller.
Motion by R. B. Whisenant to have Wisenbaker, Fix, & Associates
to adertise for bids on specification and contract documents
for a deep well for the City of Allen, Texas . CONTRACT #865.
Second by Zack Robinson, motion passed, ayes 5, noes 0.
Date set for opening bids September 7, 1967.
Judge Ramsey discussed with the council the posibility of
becoming Corporate Court Judge for the City of Allen.
Motion by Zack Robinson that Judge Ramsey be hired as of
September 1, 1967 to act as Corporate Court Judge for the
City of Allen at a fee of $50.00 per month, with court being
held twice a month and time being set by Judge Ramsey.
Second by Mack Holloway, motion passed, ayes 5, noes 0.
Council had a discussion with the police department concerning
motor scooters .
Motion by R. B. Whisenant that the City police be instructed
to inforce all traffic laws including the lawful operations
of motor scooters, motor cycles, and motor bikes .
Second by Leroy Ewen, motion passed, ayes L , noes 1. (ZR)
Motion by Zack Robinson to pay bills presented by the secretary.
Second by R. B. Whisenant, ayes 5, noes 0.
Contact Bailey Whisenant and ask him to contact Mr. Carpenter and
Mr. Dutton again about the sewer easements and to contact Mr.
Knight at a later date.
Zack Robinson wants to know if we have a letter telling us we
can tie on to the North Texas Water system at anytime, also if
water level is raised could we still tie on.
Contact real estate agent about property for a well sight.
Purchase stop signs for the city, also contact state about
Highway #5 signs, 50 mile zone being moved and placeing
radar signs up.
