Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the committee members present,the regular meeting of the Public Art Committee was
called to order by Chair Wittsche at 6:01p.m. on Tuesday,December 17,2019,in the Parks and
Recreation Conference Room of the Municipal Courts,Parks and Recreation Building, 301 Century
Parkway,Allen,Texas 75013.
Action Items
1. Approve Minutes from the November 19,2019 Regular Meeting
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Carroll and seconded by committee
member Gilbert the committee voted seven(7)for and none(0)opposed to
accept minutes from the November 19,2019 regular meeting as presented.
2. Appoint Artist Selection Panel for the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium Project
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Bennett and seconded by committee
member Gilbert,the committee voted five(5)for and two(2)opposed to appoint
Tom Cato,Doug Galletti,Jeff Gutknecht,Amber Lopez and Sue McLain as a
voting alternate,to the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium Artist Selection Panel.

3 Update on Current Projects
a. Allen Event Center Rotunda
PUBLIC ART COMMITTE
REGULAR MEETING
DECEMBER 17,2019
Staff met with artist Norman Lee and his team for a project kick off meeting on
December 13,2019. The team toured the building as well as discussed project specifics
and timing of installation.
b. Tree Carving Project at Spirit Park
Staff is coordinating with the artist for onsite carving in February. The Committee and
the community will be encouraged to attend and ACTV will be onsite filming.
4 Discussion on Future Projects
a. Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium
The Committee reviewed and commented on the Call to Artist for the project. Staff will
incorporate the suggestions and submit the call for posting on the Americans for the Arts
posting board.

fundraisers,and awards)

Texas Art Educators Conference
