Present : Mayor Gentry T. Jones, Aldermen R.B. Whisenant, LeRoy Ewen,
Mack Holloway and J .D. Smith .
Mrs Ruth Pringle recommended the following list of people to
serve on the Library Board : Mrs A.E. Vita,Mrs Perry Moseley, David
Worden,Mrs Ernest Shelgreen and Ruth Pringle.
Motion by Bill Whisenant that the City Council accept this commitee on
the Library Board. Motion second by LeRoy Ewen
Motion passed ayes 4 noes 0.
John Enloe wanted to know about getting on Sewer from lots 2E 3B Blk 4
Whisenant Addition. Mr Enloe was given permission by the Councel too
tie into the existing Sewer Line for the purpose of constructing a One
Family dwelling on said lots, with-out a tapping fee.
Motion by R.B . Whisenant that we (the Council) approve the
hiring of Mr D.A. Pherigo as City Police for the City of Allen,
and too also buy the nesseary equipment for Mr. Pherigo.
Motion was second by J.D. Smith Motion passed ayes 4 noes 0.
Discussion about fixing some of the Streets and fixing the
bridge going too Colord Town on East Ave. C North.
Mayor Jones had talked too the State Insurance Commission Board
about what it would take to get a reduction rate on our insurance.
One of the things would be to appoint a FIRE MARSHALL for the City of
Allen, and suggested that Mr. Eugene F. Ereckson be appointed .
Motion: By J.D. Smith that we appoint E.F. Ereckson as our Fire
Marshall. Motion was second by LeRoy Ewen, Motion passed ayes 4 noes 0.
Motion by J .D. Smith to pay Mr. Ereckson for two weeks Vacation.
Motion second by R.B . Whisenant. Motion passed ayes 4 noes 0.
Motion by R.B. Whisenant that we spend approx}mately $ 4,000.00
on Street repair at this time. Motion second by
