Members present : Mayor Frank Dugger
Aldermen : LeRoy Ewen, Mack Holloway,
C.D. Whitakerand Dan Strong.
Robert E. Lowman was given the OATH of OFFICE for Alderman to fill-
out the unexpired turm of J.D. Smith who resigned at a regular
meeting of February 15th 1968. Mr Lowman's term of office will
expire in April 1969.
Bids on WATER LINE from new Well # 3 was opened and read aloud
by our Engineer Mr Walter F. Hicks Jr. , Five bids were recieved
and are attached to the back of these minutes.
Mr J.D. Buckhanan Jr., explained the Audit for the last 12
months on the REVENUE FUND, and the issueing of Bonds,and a copy
of Bond Payments . Mr Buckhanan informed the Council that the City
would be able to sell $90,000.00 worth of Bonds at this time.
Mr Ervin Harris discussed with the Council a future PLANING
PROGRAM for the CITY of ALLEN. Mr Harris states that this Program
would cost the CITY approximately $ 1,400.00 to $ 1,500.00 per year.
Motion by Robert Lowman to start proceedings on CITY PLANING
PROGRAM up-to where we start spending some MONEY. Motion second
by Dan Strong. Motion passed ayes (5) Five / noes (0) none.
Mayor Dugger recognizes Mr Clark Fishel, Mr Fishel is Manager
of the Tex-Ann Corporation. He was a visitor.
Earl Young was here to get the STREET fixed. This is South 3rd
Street East - from East avenue C --East to East Avenue D. Mr Young
States " there is a 41 foot wright-of-way and he wants Curb & Guter:
Mayor Dugger is to talk to Alex Orr our Attorney and find-out if
this a dedicated Street.
Motion by Claude Whitaker to pay bills,
Motion second by Mr Lowman.
Motion passed ayes 5 noes 0.
Call all service stations -- that the City Council expect to
pass the City busisness around as equal as possiable.
Call Bennie Whisenant about the Alley in the Whis. Estates.
