City Council-City of Allen
July 18th 1968
Meeting called to order by Mayor Frank Dugger
Aldermen present : Roy Ewen, Mack Holloway, Robert Lowman and C.D.
Whitaker. Absent was Dan Strong.
Walter Hicks Jr, our Engineer talked with the Council about building
a 500,000 gal ground storage, showed location of storage tank, pump
Station and Ect. Also talked about fencing property and building
road into the Pump-Station.
Mr Hicks also mentioned some of the changes JAN-MAR is offering for
approval on the Sewer Line, some of the lines have been reducted in
size with the possibility of useing a lift-station.
Motion by Claud Whitaker to prepair the bids for advertising on
contracts # 885-886-887 for extinsion of the water system. Motion
second by Roy Ewen. Motion passed ayes 4 - noes 0.
John Enloe was in to talk with the Council about a water-line to
service the new Humbil service station on the corner of Hi-Way 2170
and Hi-Way 75 service road. Mayor Dugger and John are going to work
out a plan with the Humble Company on a pro rata baseies, to put in
a 6" line which will take care of future needs.
The Council and Jerry Burton discussed buying a police car for the
City of Allen and it seames that the only thing available at this
time was a Plymoth at Gene Hayse Moters in McKinney. For approximately
$ 2800.00,
Motion by Robert Lowman that we buy this Car from Gene Hays Moters
Motion second by Roy Ewen. Motion passed ayes 4 noes 0.
The Council discussed with Mr Jerry Burton about working for the
School when they were having foot-ball games and about the money that
the School and or any other organization that might make donations .
Motion by Claud D. Whitaker that the City gives Jerry (1/2) one half
of the donation that comes to the City from such organization when he
(Mr.Burton) is working the project, all money is to come to the City
Treasure and disbursments be made fro the City. Motion second by
Robert Lowman. Motion passed ayes 4 / noes 0.
Motion by Bob Lowman that the Mayor and City Secretary sign contract
with Jerry W. Burton for City Police. Motion sec. by Roy Ewen.
Motion passed ayes 4 noes 0.
Motion by Claud Whitaker to get proper coverage of insurance on
the Car we are buying. Motion sec, by Roy Ewen. Motion passed ayes4/no 0.
