Present Mayor Frank Dugger
Aldermen Dam Strong, Roy Ewen, Mack Holloway, Robert
Lowman and Claude D. Whitaker.
Mr. Walter Hicks our Engineer was here to explain the
BIDS on contract 's # 885 886 and 887.
Motion by Robert Lowman' to issue bids on contract 's 885-886-
and 887 as recomended by the Engineer. Motion second by Mack
Holloway. Motion passed ayse 5 - noes 0.
The Council discussed a letter to be sent out by Mayor
Dugger, with reference to our animal ordinance, street signs,
garbage Ordinance, fire department and how to contact our City
Police. With one minor change the letters were to be mailed.
Motion by Dan Strong to give PERMIT to Travis Pool, Inc.
for a swimming pool on Dr. A.E. Vita property at 398 Keith Drive.
Motion sec. by S.D. Whitaker. Motion passed ayes 5 noes 0.
Motion by Robert Lowman to raise the price of building
Permits $20.00 per unit - plus the regular charge - effective
as of September 6th. 1968. Motion second by Mack Holloway;
motion passed ayes 4 noes 0. One abstained (Dan Strong)builder.
Motion by Dan Strong too pay bills presented by the City
Seely, and second by Robert Lowman. Motion passed ayes 5 noes 0.
Motion by Dan Strong to move our CITY LIMIT SIGNS TO THE
ROAD BOUNDRY LINES OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, and to change the
SPEED LIMIT SIGNS ON HI-WAY 5 to lower the speed limit each way
from the intersection of SHW 2170. Motion second by Robert
Lowman. Motion passed ayes 5 - noes 0.
Mr. Bill Enloe Allen Post Master was here to discuss
Future mail delivery for the City of Allen, which don't seam to
be to far away. Mr Enloe states that it would be very difficult
to deliver Mail with the present set-up on the Street NAMES as
they are now, and recommended that the Street names in the old
section of town be changed. Mr Enloe is to bring his recommenda-
tion to the City Council at a later date.
