City Council City of Allen*Allen, Texas
Sept. 19th 1968
Present : Mayor Frank Dugger - Aldermen Dan Strong, Roy Ewen,
Mr Harris, Jack Parsons and Mr. V. Richardson.
Motion by C.D. Whitaker too pay bills, Motion second by Bob
Lowman; Motion passed ayes 5 - noes 0.
The Council discussed a NO BURNING ORDINANCE for the city of
Allen. This discussion was TABLED with-out any action.
Then the Council talked about discgarging of FIRE ARMS includ-
ing B-B Guns and ct . inside the City Limits . This discussion
was also TABLED for the present.
Discussion : About getting a population count for the City of
Allen. Mayor Dugger suggested that maby the Boy
Scouts might like to take the census for us. Some-
one suggested a count of 3.55 per house would
give a close count .
475 houses x 3.55 = 1686 / 475 houses x 3.50 =1662
Mr Harris discussed the future planing program for the City
which he (Mr.Harris ) states would cover an erra of approximately
16 sq. miles, also the commitee would have-to meet with the
Council 15 times in making plans - which would involve app. 2
Mr V. Richardson talked with the Council about serving as
building Inspector for the City of Allen. Mr Richardson
asked $2.00 for each inspection, and it would take from (4)
Four too (6) Six inspections for each unite.
Motion by Bob Lowman to hire Mr Richardson and with his help
draw up a inspection Code that will fit our needs here in Allen.
Motion second by Dan Strong. Motion passed ayes 5 noes m.
Mr Jack Parsons with Jan Mar Devlopment Company and the City
Council discussed the Plans on the Hillside Village addition,
the main concern of the City Council at this time was the SEWER
OUTFALL LINE from the Hillside Village Addition which included
a LIFT STATION. Some of the questions was, who is to maintain
and pay electric bill on said Station? When will said Station
become City Property and Ect .
Mayor Dugger asked that our next meeting of October 3rd
be opened at 6:30 P.M., and ask all the building contractors
to be present, that we might talk about a building inspection
Code for the City of Allen.
